Getting there

Travel & where to stay

Book flights early. Late May runs into the UK half-term (the bank holiday is Monday 31 May 2027), so prices climb for anything after the 28th.

Flights

Fly into Palma de Mallorca (PMI), the island's only airport. Most UK airports have direct flights with easyJet, Jet2, Ryanair, TUI and BA.

Flights take about 2¼ hours from London. Majorca is one hour ahead of the UK.

Getting around

There's a taxi rank outside arrivals, and Palma is about 15 minutes away. A hire car is the easiest way to explore, but book it early for late May. Buses also run from the airport to Palma and the main resorts.

Add your flight under RSVP → Your travel. The Who's where board then shows who lands at the same time, so you can share a taxi.

Where to stay Coming soon

We'll list recommended hotels and villas near the venue, with any group rates. Until then, choose somewhere with free cancellation, as late May gets busy.

Once you've booked, add where you're staying so people can see who's nearby. Splitting a villa with friends works out well here.

We'll pin the venue here once it's confirmed.

Know before you go

A little Majorca guide

The useful bits, especially if it's your first time. Check the latest government travel advice for Spain before you go.

Passports & entry

  • UK passports must be under 10 years old on the day you arrive and valid for at least 3 months after you leave. Check the issue date as well as the expiry.
  • The EU's new border checks (fingerprints and a photo) can mean queues at passport control. Allow extra time.
  • The EU's ETIAS travel permit for UK visitors may be needed by May 2027. We'll post an update when the rules are confirmed.

Money

  • Spain uses the euro. Cards and contactless work almost everywhere.
  • Hotels add a tourist tax of a few euros per person per night, usually paid when you check out.
  • Tipping isn't expected. Rounding up, or about 5–10% for good service, is appreciated.

Weather in late May

  • Warm and sunny: about 24–26°C by day and around 15°C at night.
  • The sea is about 19–20°C, so refreshing.
  • The sun is stronger than it feels with the sea breeze, so pack SPF, a hat and sunglasses, plus a layer for the evenings.

Plugs, phones & health

  • Plugs are European two-pin at 230V, so bring an adapter.
  • Many UK networks now charge for roaming in the EU. Check your plan or add a roaming pass.
  • Bring your GHIC or EHIC card, and get travel insurance as well.

Local life

  • Dinner is late, often 9pm or after, and lunch is the big meal.
  • Some resort towns fine people for walking around in swimwear away from the beach, so cover up in town and in churches.
  • Many smaller shops close in the afternoon.

Dates to know

  • The wedding is on Monday 24 May.
  • Late May is just before peak season. It's lovely and warm but not packed, though villas and hire cars still book up.
  • The UK half-term starts 31 May, so flights home that weekend cost more.

A few words to try

Spanish works everywhere. Locals also speak Catalan (Mallorquí), and they love it when you try a word or two.

Hola / Bon diaHello / Good morning (Catalan)
Gràcies / GraciasThank you (Catalan / Spanish)

Questions

FAQ

Do I need to come for the whole week?

No. Come for whichever parts you can. Tick the events you'll be at in the RSVP so we can plan numbers.

What's the dress code?

We'll confirm it closer to the time. For now, plan on summer smart: light fabrics and comfortable shoes. Some venues have uneven ground or sand.

Can I bring a plus-one or children?

Your invite names everyone in your party. If you're unsure, just ask us. Add any children in the RSVP so we can plan food and space.

What should I bring for the boat day?

Swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, a hat and something warm for the trip back. Please tell us about any seasickness or swimming concerns in the RSVP notes.

Gifts?

You travelling all this way is more than enough. If you'd still like to give something, we'll add details here later.

Is it accessible?

Old towns and hillside villas can mean cobbles, slopes and stairs. Tell us about any access needs in the RSVP and we'll make sure you're looked after.

I've lost my personal RSVP link

Message Sally or Chris and we'll send it again. It's also saved on whichever device you RSVP'd from.
